For many years, people used the translation of the Domesday Book to work out where the name “Marston” came from. The problem was, this didn’t square with the way it is pronounced (and has been since Saxon times) or the topography of the area. By chance, whilst researching parish boundaries, club chairman John Spargo stumbled on the real story. To see how this happened watch this short film by clicking here.
